On January 9, 2024, Khazar University celebrated the 80th birthday of Honored Journalist Alirza Balayev, deputy editor-in-chief of "Khazar Khabar" journal, with a jubilee event. The university's administration and staff were in attendance.

The event commenced with the university's Rector, Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova, delivering opening remarks, offering sincere congratulations, and presenting flowers to the jubilee. The founder of Khazar University, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, in his extensive speech, spoke about A Balayev's many years of fruitful work and creativity in the editorial office of "Khazar Khabar" journal, and presented a letter of thanks to the jubilee.

Vice-rectors of the university Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, Assoc. Prof. Isakhan Isakhanli, Director of Public Relations and Media of the university Alovsat Amirbeyli, Head of the Department of Languages and Literature Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology Telman Nusratoghlu, Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology Gunel Bahaddinova, the senior lecturer of the English Language and Literature Department Firangiz Nasirova and others wished the jubilee good health and success in his work.
