On November 3, 2023, Khazar University's Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy, in collaboration with the Center of Analysis of International Relations, convened a symposium focusing on "The 3rd Anniversary of the Great Victory: Challenges and Opportunities in the Post-Conflict Era."
The symposium commenced with the opening speeches by Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, along with Dr. Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the Board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations.
The first panel of the symposium, comprising two sections, was entitled "The Future of Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy in the Post-Conflict Era." Dr. Vasif Huseynov, the head of the Center of Analysis of International Relations, moderated this panel. Speakers included Mahur Gasimov, the head of the Department of Analysis and Strategic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Damjan Krnjevic Miskovic, a professor at ADA University, and Dr. Araz Aslanlı, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caucasian Center for International Relations and Strategic Studies.
Dr. Orkhan Valiyev, the head of the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy at Khazar University, took on the role of moderator for the second panel, which focused on "South Caucasus and the Normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations." Speakers included Professor Hakan Yavuz from the University of Utah (USA), Dinea Mark Andrei, a guest researcher at the Center for the Analysis of International Relations, and Fuad Giragov, the deputy director of the Center for South Caucasus Studies.
Following the panel discussions, the symposium concluded with the closing remarks and presentation of gifts by Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova, the rector of Khazar University.
