The 4th year students of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences of Khazar University, majoring in “Philology (Azerbaijani language and literature)” began research experience in Folklore at ANAS Institute of Folklore in the autumn semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The research experience in Folklore is carried out in order to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the educational process of Philology students in the context of modern scientific approaches and to develop their research abilities. The Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of ANAS, Associate Professor Hikmat Guliyev, who led the research experience, introduced the students of the Faculty of Philology to Academician Mukhtar Imanov, General Director of ANAS Institute of Folklore. Academician M.Imanov provided students with detailed information about the Institute directions of scientific research, important achievements and periodicals.
Then the students visited the Department of Folklore of Turkic Nations of the Institute of Folklore. The head of the Department, Doctor of Philology, Professor Afzaladdin Askar, with the participation of other employees of the Department, introduced the students with the activities of the Department of Folklore of Turkic Nations, areas of research, and important works in the field of translation. The meeting discussed topics of interest to students, including folklore collections and research based on academic principles.
