On August 24-September 4, 2023, Khazar University Geography and Environment Department Head Dr. Rovshan Abbasov participated in the 10th plenum of IPBES (International Panel on Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity) in Bonn, Germany. It should be noted that Rovshan Abbasov has been working in this organization as a member of the IPBES Interdisciplinary Expert Panel since 2008.

Two global assessment documents on Invasive alien species and Ecosystem Values were adopted at this plenum. In addition, Rovshan Abbasov, as the lead author of the Azerbaijan National Ecosystem Assessments project, also met with UNEP representatives. The next IPBES plenum will be held in Namibia in 2024.
