On March 10, 2023, the presentation of the "Huma gushu" Educational Charity Fund was held at Khazar University. University faculty, students and media representatives took part in the event.
The fund was established to keep alive the memory of Humay Vilayat Guliyeva, an employee of the International Committee of the Red Cross, who tragically lost her life while working for the Committee in the city of Medellin, Colombia, and to continue her humanitarian activities.
Rector of the university, Irada Khalilova, spoke about the intersection of the goals of the Foundation and the university in the field of education and charity, and evaluated the activity of public institutes and charity funds that provide assistance to education as an investment in the future.
A documentary film about Humay was shown at the event, with the memories of her friends and colleagues.
At the event, Shahla Vazirova, Humay's mother, the president of the "Huma gushu" Foundation, and Leyla Tagizadeh, the member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, spoke about the educational support and scholarship programs of the Foundation, the support given to veterans and students with limited financial means during its activity, and future plans, including 2023 Master's Scholarship Program. The representative of the "Huma gushu" Foundation Saida Abdullayeva spoke about the impact of the opportunities provided by the foundation on the lives of veterans and the opportunities for integration into society. The event continued with answering questions from the audience.
