On February 24, 2023, a scientific-practical conference on "Heydar Aliyev phenomenon: historical mission and the idea of national self-awareness" was held in the Marble Hall of Khazar University, organized by the Department of History and Archeology and the Department of Languages and Literatures. University administration and employees, students, specialists from various fields participated in the conference.

The event, which began with the singing of the national anthem, was opened by the speech of the rector of the university, associate professor Irada Khalilova. Then the member of the National Assembly Dr. Rashad Mahmudov, the founder of Khazar University, the chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, professor, academician Hamlet Isakhanli, the head of the Department of History and Archeology, Ph.D in history Telman Nusratoghlu, spoke in the first part of the event.

The second part of the conference consisted of scientific panels. In the first panel, the chief specialist of the Heydar Aliyev Center, Naila Hasanova, the head of the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy of Khazar University, Ph.D in politics Orkhan Valiyev, Ph.D. in history Bayram Guliyev and Ph.D. in philosophy Sevinj Gambarova delivered speeches. In the second panel, correspondent member of ANAS, Tehran Alishanoglu, and Ph.D. in politics Javid Valiyev's speeches were heard.

In addition to the political and state activities of Heydar Aliyev, his contributions in the field of language, literature, history and culture to our country, our people and the Turkic world were widely explained. The event also featured a short film about the national leader. Moreover, a book exhibition was organized by the Library and Information Center of the University.
