On September 7, 2022, Zeynal Akparov, General Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources, Corresponding Member of ANAS, and Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University, full member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, signed an agreement for further expansion of cooperation in the field of scientific research and education.
The agreement includes issues such as the joint use of the existing infrastructure of the Institute of Genetic Resources and Khazar University for the innovative development of various fields of science and education in Azerbaijan, the coordinated implementation of activities to join international and local programs, the organization of regular round tables by specialists of both institutions, and the improvement of subject programs taught in relevant scientific fields, the development of new textbooks and teaching aids, the creation of new research laboratories for the purpose of expanding fundamental research.
Also, improvement of supply of existing laboratories with new equipment and reagents, expansion of multidisciplinary research, joint participation in local and international projects, scientific-research experience of the university students at the Institute of Genetic Resources, and pedagogical experience of the institute's graduates at Khazar University, international and national level joint scientific conference, symposium, training and conducting seminars and collaborating in many other areas are planned.
Professor Hamlet Isakhanli and Rector of Khazar University Associate Professor Irada Khalilova got acquainted with the research conducted in the departments and laboratories of the Institute of Genetic Resources. The guests highly appreciated the scientific-research works carried out in the institute's laboratories equipped with modern scientific devices and facilities, as well as the organization of highly qualified personnel training in the institute.
