On November 4, 2019 an event dedicated to “Global Opportunities in Khazar” was organized by International Affairs Office at Khazar University Marble Hall. The aim of the meeting was to familiarize the students and staff about international projects and international exchange opportunities for them provided by Khazar University. The other aim of the event was to create a ground for students who has participated in exchange programs to share their experiences with their fellow.
During the meeting that lasted for three hours both staff and students made presentations about international opportunities at Khazar University. Rector of Khazar University, Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova opened the meeting with her greetings and wished all the students good luck.
Coordinator of International Affairs Office, Lamiya Panahova presented student exchange opportunities and talked about Erasmus+, Mevlana, bilateral exchange agreements, and dual degree programs. She answered students’ questions about the applications, selection procedure, requirements, and deadlines.
Director of the Development Office, Raziya Isayeva made a presentation on British Council’s Creative Spark initiative and a new project won by Khazar University and provided useful information on the student’s role and participation in it. On her turn, the lecturer of Psychology Department Nilufar Alizada gave information about the hackathon event organized by Khazar University and explained how students can participate in it.
Students in their turn made their presentations for audience. Moozhan Serpoush, Khazar University’s PhD student who completed her Erasmus+ exchange semester at Cadiz University in Spain shared her experiences with fellow students and gave her tips on how to make the best of your time there. Maryam Adli, a PhD student who went to Selcuk University as Mevlana exchange student during her master studies at Khazar also shared her experiences and answered students’ questions. Khazar’s incoming Mevlana exchange student from Inonu University, Murat Can Ishik presented overall information about education in Turkey and gave recommendations on finding accommodation, managing your budget, and enjoying your time in Turkey. Ozge Gurgor, Khazar’s bilateral exchange student from Tubingen University in Germany also made a presentation about studies at Tubingen University, the studies and student life there. She also answered students’ questions on the city Tubingen.
