On May 16, 2018, a presentation of 29 letters produced by Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh during his exile, one of the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and a prominent state figure, which were sent to Suleyman Takinar, an Azerbaijani exiled intellectual, was held. The letters were donated to the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan where the presentation took place. Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology, and students majoring in History participated in the presentation.
In his opening speech, Farhad Jabbarov, PhD in History and Secretary of the Museum, mentioned that the letters belong to the period of 1950-1955. The letters have been donated to the museum by Suleyman Tekinar’s successors living in Baku. In his letters, Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh shared his ideas with Suleyman Tekinar regarding missions of Azerbaijani exiled intellectuals. Later, on request of the museum, Suleyman Tekinar’s successors presented the letters to a cultural centre.
In the ceremony, a clip from the movie “Through painful ways”, which screened S.Takinar’s meeting with M.Razulzade, was demonstrated. Naila Valikhanli, Director of the Museum, delivered a speech and stressed the importance of protecting the heritage of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, especially the one by M.Razulzadeh. Then Rauf Hasanov, who has donated the letters to the museum, and Leyla Denger, Suleyman Tekinar’s daughter living in Germany, delivered speeches. Roza Arazova and students had a memory photo taken.
