A public lecture on “Economic reforms in Azerbaijan”, with joint initiative of Faculty of Economy and Management of Khazar University and Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication, was held in Marble hall of university on December 19, 2017. The aim of the public lecture was to inform academics about the economic reforms in Azerbaijan.
Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Economy and Management, opened the event. He stressed that strategic road maps have a huge impact on development of non-oil sector and diversification of export as well as development of human capital, and it is important that the youth should be educated on reform process.
Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University, greeted the participants and talked about contribution of non-oil sector to sustainable economic development.
Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Khazar University, mentioned that strategic road maps helped Azerbaijan keep its economic development stable in a global economic crisis, and added that special attention should be given to knowledge and human capital in the course of reforms.
Dr. Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication, exchanged ideas with faculty staff and students on strategic road maps, approved with Decree “On Strategic Road Map on National Economy and Key Sectors” by Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, December 6, 2016.
