On July 14, 2017, a research seminar on scientific research was held at Khazar University.
Dr. Irada Khalilova, the head of the Biology Department and the Center for Cell Pathology, instructors of the department – Associate professor, Javid Ojaqi and Dr. Zaur Karimov, Raziya Isayeva, Director of Development Center, Goshqar Maharramov, Coordinator of the Department of Education, Aytaj Misgerli, Deputy Director of Library - Information Center and PhD students of the university participated in the seminar.
In the first part of the seminar, PhD students - Zuleykha Akbarova and Gulafet Shafiyeva - gave critical analysis of the scientific articles they read. Then Shabnam Shahgaldiyeva, a PhD student, informed about her research topic, its importance, the purpose and the expected outcomes. The presentations were welcomed and comprehensive discussions were held.
In the second part of the seminar, discussions were held on the ways of strengthening, supporting scientific research and establishing a PhD Students Association. At the end of the seminar it was decided to establish this union. Goshgar Maharramov, a PhD student in Education Management, Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Turkey, and Coordinator of Education Department undertook to volunteer to organize the association from the new academic year.
It was noted that a PhD Student Association is a platform designed to help the researchers develop. Each PhD student can join the union and actively participate in it. Young researchers from various fields can create student networks, exchange opinions about their ideas and practices, organize different meetings and seminars, as well as informal social events.
