On June 22, 2016, the U.S. Ambassador Robert F. Cekuta met with five members of Team Imagine and the team leader who would travel to the USA this week. The Imagine team was selected as one of the top teams for the campaign they designed and implemented within their participation in the Peer-to-Peer (P2P): Challenging Extremism Program. Participation of Khazar University’s team in the P2P Program is coordinated jointly by the International Affairs Office and the School of Economics and Management.
Participants of the meeting from the U.S. Embassy included Mr. Stephen Guice, Public Affairs Officer, Ms. Amy Petersen, Cultural Affairs Officer, Mr. Wilke Nelson, Social Media Specialist, Ms. Venera Aliyeva, Administrative assistant, and Ms. Sabina Abdullayeva, Alumni Outreach Coordinator.
After a brief introduction, Team Imagine gave an overview of their campaign to Ambassador Cekuta. He greatly appreciated the concept, and congratulated the team with this distinguished achievement.
Ambassador Cekuta expressed his best wishes for final presentation in Washington, D.C. and asked the team members to enjoy their time in United States. Team Leader, Ms. Sana Imran, extended gratitude to the ambassador for the encouragement and support rendered to Team Imagine. At the end of the meeting, a group photo with Ambassador Cekuta was taken.
