On May 12-14, 2016, a conference entitled “I International Turkey-Azerbaijan Relations Symposium” was held at Kastamonu University (Turkey) in cooperation with Azerbaijani Tourism and Management University.

Scholars and researchers from many Turkish and Azerbaijani universities participated in the symposium. Among them were Dr. Zivar Huseynli and Dr. Elnura Azizova, instructors of the Khazar University Department of Languages and Civilizations. Z. Huseynli presented a paper on “South Azerbaijani Poets in Turkey,” while A. Azizova presented “Turkey’s influence in bridging traditional and modern (or the transition period from people to nation) in Azerbaijan in the formation of Turkish-Muslim identity: examples from the Fuyuzat Journal (1906-1907).”

At the end of the event, participants were given certificates.
