On May 18, 2022 a signing ceremony was held affirming the launch of the project “Development Economics Academy” between SOCAR and its partners in the South Caucasus Pipeline Company (SCPC) and Khazar University.

The main purpose of the project is to commit to the free education of 20 selected students who will gain an opportunity to join the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) “Data, Economics and Development Policy” MicroMaster Program.

The Contract was signed by the Executive Director of SOCAR Midstream, Fuad M. Ahmadov and the Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Hamlet Isaxanli.

Both sides emphasized the importance of fostering a generation of young experts specializing in data based economic analysis for the development of Azerbaijani economy and expressed their hope for the continuity of their cooperation.
