A book entitled “Management of Eco-Migrant Community-Based Cooperatives” co-authored by Rovshan Karimov, a staff member of Khazar University's Department of Environment and Geography and Doctor of Philosophy in Geography, has been published. The book was funded under “the European Union's Regional and Rural Development Support” Program and was written as part of the project activities as the winner of the relevant grant competition of the “Rüzgar” Ecological Public Union. The project, implemented in 2017-2020, is called "Agricultural Initiatives for the Formation of Market Competitive Sources of Income in the Telishli Eco-Migrant Community." The co-author of the published book is Gatiba Najafova, and the editor is the professor of ANAS, Islam Mustafayev.
The book comparatively analyzes the social welfare of the Telishli eco-migrant community in the Imishli region of Azerbaijan before and after the flood, the ecological condition of the area, and provides information on the community's activities to support agricultural initiatives on a cooperative basis. Rovshan Karimov analyzed the migration of the population due to natural disasters and unfavorable natural and ecological conditions, the possibilities of solving the problems of eco-migrants, and the experiences of other countries in this field. He also explored issues of rural welfare improvement and community initiatives, and world experience in the development and management of agricultural cooperatives. The recommendations in the book can be used as an exemplary way for rural communities in a similar situation.
