On December 11, 2020, AZERTAC published an article on the results of Azerbaijani students in the TIMSS 2019 - International Assessment in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and studied the views of well-known scientists and educators.
It was noted in the article that Azerbaijani students ranked 28th among 58 countries participating in the study with 515 points in mathematics. This figure represents a 52-point increase over the 2011 TIMSS. According to the results of the international assessment, Azerbaijani students showed better results than their peers from developed countries such as France, Spain and New Zealand, and at the same time achieved the highest results in the South Caucasus.
Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, founder of Khazar University and chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, also responded to AZERTAC's request: “I think our success in mathematics paves the way to success in other sciences. We only have to look ahead in this field”.
