On January 15, 2020, the event entitled “Love in Nabati’s Oeuvre” presented by Khosrov Sartipi, a poet, writer, and years-long scholar of Nabati’s legacy, was held at Khazar University’s Marble Hall, upon the initiative of Mawlana Literary-Philosophical Research Center (MAFAM).
The event was attended by the Khazar University Leadership and staff, students, prominent representatives of science and art of the country, and guests.
Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the Founder of Khazar University, Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, opened the event and emphasized the special place of Nabati in Azerbaijani literature. After reciting a few verses from the poet's poems, he spoke about the great role of Khosrov Sartipi in the study of the Nabati’s legacy and gave the floor to the guest.
Khosrov Sartipi, 30 years-long scholar of Nabati’s legacy, began his speech with the Abulqasim Nabati's ghazal and greeted the participants. In his lecture on Nabati, a prominent representative of the nineteenth-century Azerbaijani literature, Khosrov Sartipi elaborated on the extensive glorification of the love theme in Nabati’s creativity, reciting examples from his poems, in the form of both the classical and ashig poems. He finished his speech with a poem written for Nabati.
At the event, the poets recited poems they dedicated to Vahid Chamanli and Ilham Gahraman Nabati. Honored Art Worker Agil Malikov recited several ghazals from Nabati, being accompanied by music. Mahsati Jabbarova, the soloist of the State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, Khazar University teacher and ashig Ramin Garayev, performed songs from Nabati's poems. People's Artist Alim Gasimov performed an example of mugham over the Nabati’s ghazal.
The concert program was also presented by participation of the prominent Iranian artist Vadud Muazinzadeh, Tohid Novruzi, Mehdi Jannat Fard and Azerbaijani artists Elya Deniz and Mahta Behnam.
