On October 14, 2019, the meeting of the World Turkish Business Council (DTIK-DEIK) was held in Baku. The meeting was attended by about 300 delegates from more than 40 countries. The meeting was opened by Nail Olpak, Chairman of the DTIK. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were performed. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a keynote speech at the meeting. Following that, a panel session on “Turkish Diaspora in International Diplomacy” was held. Mehmet Samsar, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Russia, Ceren Yazgan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, and the Nevzat Uyanik, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Kazakhstan delivered speeches. At the seminar, entitled “There can be no two diasporas of the same nation”, Shamil Aydin, Head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Associate Professor, Telman Nusretoglu, Teacher of History and Archeology Department at Khazar University delivered talks. Alovsat Amirbeyli, Director of Public Relations and Media of Khazar University attended the meeting.
