On July 9-10, 2019, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, the Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, and Elza Samadova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, took part in the International Seminar “Tourism in the CIS Countries and Regional Cooperation: New Challenges and Opportunities”, organized by the Ipekyol International Tourism University in Samarkand, and an Agreement on future cooperation was signed between the two Universities.
Delivering talk at the seminar, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli touching upon the historical and scientific-cultural relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, pointed out that the love and friendship between Azerbaijani and Uzbek are not coincidental, and that these love and friendship will be an important incentive in further development and expansion of tourism in all spheres. At the same time, for the Universities, that train specialists in the field of tourism, Professor Isakhanli emphasized the importance of cooperation, joint projects, organization of summer schools, teacher and student exchanges for further development of tourism between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Furthermore, he also mentioned the existence of two factors crucial for tourism development: language and travel freedom among these countries.
Khazar University also attended the I Tourism Fair, which was the second part of this Seminar.
After the seminar, special tours to historical and touristic places in Samarkand was organized for the guests. Historical cultural heritage of Samarkand fascinated all the guests.
