On January 11, 2017, a celebration entitled “Egyptian Cultural Day” was held in Khazar University’s affiliate Dunya School. The ceremony was attended by Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Susan Jamil, the Egyptian Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ahmad Sami Elaydi, head of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Relations Center, the ambassadors of Jordan and Sudan to Azerbaijan. Other participants included representatives from the embassies of Saudi Arabia, Marrakesh, Kuwait, Algeria and other Arab countries, Aygun Aliyeva, Deputy Mayor of Binagadi District, Nizami Jafarov, Member of Parliament, members of other governmental bodies as well as people of science and arts.
Organized as part of the “Elçi daşı” project, the celebration was meant to improve ties with embassies and cultural centers of different countries in Baku and provide students with information about those countries.
