As part of its annual training and awareness-raising activities on the social aspects of sustainability, Khazar University organized a seminar titled “Organization of Psychological Work with Victims in Extreme Situations” on March 3, 2025. The seminar was jointly organized by the Psychology Department and the Psychology Club of Khazar University and was delivered by Mirsadiq Muxtarov, staff member of the Psychology Department and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center.
Mirsadiq Muxtarov explained the concept of extreme situations and highlighted the psychological processes individuals may experience under such conditions. He emphasized the importance of timely psychological support and introduced the fundamentals of initial psychological aid, as well as the main methods and approaches used when working with people affected by extreme circumstances. During the seminar, also practical aspects of psychological intervention in real-life situations, helping participants develop a clearer understanding of how social support systems can function effectively in times of stress, crisis, and vulnerability and other issues were covered. The session concluded with an interactive discussion.
