On October 8, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Khazar University, appeared on AnewZ’s PrimeTime program, where he answered questions from host Andi Mioč about the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, in which Azerbaijan participated for the first time as a full-fledged member. Held in Avaza, Turkmenistan, the meeting marked a continuation of the expansion of the C5 format into C6, creating new opportunities for regional cooperation.
During the program, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev highlighted prospects for expanding economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries. Citing Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan as examples, he emphasized the importance of deepening economic ties and implementing joint initiatives across various sectors.
He also discussed the role of the Middle Corridor and the Zangezur Corridor in expanding regional transport and connectivity opportunities. Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev noted that developing joint initiatives in technology and green energy could open up new avenues for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries.
