Seminar on "Psychological Causes of Mood Changes in Students"

On May 26, 2025, a seminar on "Psychological Causes of Mood Changes in Students" was organized by Gulafat Shafiyeva, instructor at the Life Sciences Department, in the assembly hall of Khazar University's Bakhikhanov branch.

During the seminar, Gulafat Shafiyeva provided detailed information about the results of the international DASS-21 survey she conducted among university students as part of her dissertation work. Based on the results, anxiety, stress, and depression emerged as the main psychological causes of mood changes among students.

The causes of anxiety and stress observed in students, particularly on the eve of examination sessions, were explained, and ways to prevent these conditions were elaborated in detail. Seminar participants were given practical advice on how to identify and properly analyze erroneous and distorted thoughts, and how to reduce the negative impact of such thoughts on motivation.

At the end of the seminar, a meditation session was conducted together with the participants, and the effectiveness of this method in reducing stress and anxiety was emphasized.
