On June 2, 2025, upon the invitation of Dr. Jamala Eldarova, Director of the Department of Life Sciences, in connection with June 1 – International Children's Protection Day, students from grade 3A of the Russian section of "Dunya" school visited Khazar University. The event was attended by Dr. Javid Ocagi, Associate Professor of the Department of Life Sciences, department instructor Gulafat Shafiyeva, along with the 3A grade students, as well as Ilaha Huseynova, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Russian section of "Dunya" school, class teacher Lamiya Huseynova, and assistant teacher Madina Babayeva. This visit became both an educational and memorable experience for the students.
During the visit, the students first met with the founder of Khazar University, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli. The students addressed him with interesting questions regarding the history of establishment of Khazar University and "Dunya" school, educational principles, and future opportunities. Hamlet Isakhanli answered the questions with great pleasure and, taking interest in the students' education in a cordial dialogue atmosphere, gave them valuable recommendations.
Simultaneously, the students presented their handicrafts to Hamlet Isakhanli, recited poems, and performed songs. Their prepared artistic performances added a special festive atmosphere to the event.
Continuing the program, Dr. Gulbaniz Gasimova, Associate Professor of the Department of Life Sciences, provided visual information about various biological specimens to the students in the University's laboratory. The students had the opportunity to become acquainted with creatures such as tadpoles and water snakes, developing their observation skills.
Furthermore, the teachers explained to the students the role of living beings in the environment, emphasizing the importance of biodiversity conservation. They provided recommendations about the significance of not being afraid of animals, not killing them, and approaching nature with respect.
The event, particularly the meeting with the distinguished polymath scholar Hamlet Isakhanli and acquaintance with the higher education environment, became an unforgettable festive gift for the students in terms of spiritual enrichment.
