On May 21, 2025, a seminar titled "Uzeyir Hajibeyli's National Independence Struggle in the Early 20th Century" (based on archival materials) was organized at Khazar University's Narimanov campus by the Department of Languages and Literature, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the founder of Azerbaijani professional music, genius composer, playwright, and public figure.
The head of the Department of Languages and Literature, Associate Professor Dilbar Zeynalova emphasized that Uzeyir Hajibeyli was one of the greatest figures in Azerbaijani music history, who contributed to the scientific study of Azerbaijani folk music by transcribing it into musical notation, and was the author of musical comedies, numerous articles, feuilletons, and satirical miniatures addressing important socio-political and educational issues of the era under various pseudonyms.
Leading researcher of the Personal Archives Research Department at the Institute of Manuscripts named after M. Fuzuli of ANAS, Ayten Imanova noted that Uzeyir Hajibeyli was also a true intellectual and patriot who worked tirelessly for his people's freedom, national identity, and enlightenment. She shared the results of her research based on archival materials with the event participants. After the presentation, she answered students' questions.
At the event, faculty members of the Department of Languages and Literature - Associate Professor Khatira Yusifova, Associate Professor Ziver Huseynli Baylan, Dr. Almaz Badalova, and Sevinj Allahverdiyeva also spoke and shared their observations on the topic.
