On April 28, 2025, an event dedicated to the works of the great English playwright Shakespeare was held in the Marble Hall, organized by the Department of English Language and Literature.
A poem written by the department's teacher, American specialist Michael Collins, expresses the essence of the day in poetic language.
The poem emphasizes how teachers and students came together for a common purpose, the performances of the participants, and the young actors showcasing their stage skills.
We present this poem to you:
14 Lines for a Legend
Students, instructors, administrators, in one place,
Were united by a common wish: to honor the Bard.
Their treasured Khazar University learning space
Became the scene of a gathering not to disregard.
Bravely did the several presenters stand,
Saluting Stratford-upon-Avon's famed son.
In Marble Hall — nothing short of grand —
What's typically "work" actually looked "fun."
A visitor from afar displayed his poetic skills.
Khazar stalwarts found another way to teach.
Young actors served up some dramatic thrills.
The founder and chairman gave a fine speech.
What a wonderful event last April the 28th saw,
For those respecting Shakespeare's word as law.
