On May 7-8, 2025, the Marmara Group Foundation held the 28th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye. The summit was attended by more than 850 delegates from 30 countries worldwide, including 11 former presidents. Alövsat Amirbayli, Director of Public Relations and Media at Khazar University, was also invited to the summit.
The meeting was opened by Akkan Suver, Chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation, who welcomed the former heads of state and all guests. Letters addressed to the Summit participants from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev were read.
On the first day of the Summit, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Minister of Finance of North Macedonia Gordana Dimitrevska-Kosovska, Governor of Istanbul Davud Gul, Nobel Laureate (2015) Prof. Aziz Sancar and others delivered speeches.
During the first day's session of the Summit, presentations on various topics were delivered by representatives from more than 35 state, municipal, and non-governmental organizations from 7 countries worldwide. A. Amirbayli, Director of Public Relations and Media at Khazar University, was elected to the secretariat of that session.
On the final day of the Summit, former presidents Abdullah Gul (Türkiye), Emil Konstantinescu (Romania), George Ivanov (North Macedonia), Ivo Josipovic and Stjepan Mesic (Croatia), Vaclav Klaus (Czech Republic), Petru Lucinski (Moldova), Moncef Marzouki (Tunisia) and others spoke, expressing their countries' positions regarding the current global situation.
Commemorative photos were taken at the end of the Summit. A reception was hosted by the Marmara Group Foundation in honor of foreign leaders and guests.
