On April 18, 2025, an online meeting was held between the staff of the Library and Information Center of Khazar University and Mohammad Mustafa, the Regional Engagement Specialist for the Middle East and Asia of DataCite.
During the meeting, an overview of the DataCite organization was presented. DataCite is an international non-profit organization dedicated to connecting research results and resources, thereby enhancing research effectiveness. By supporting the creation and management of DOIs and metadata records, the organization facilitates the discoverability and reuse of research outputs and resources. It contributes to easier access to scholarly content online and promotes greater visibility and recognition of research data. DataCite currently brings together 1,508 member institutions from 57 countries.
The meeting also addressed topics related to Khazar University’s Electronic Archive. The DataCite representative praised the structure and richness of the University’s DSpace (Electronic Archive) collection, highlighting the accurate categorization of the archive’s sections as well as the accessibility and openness of the materials.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on establishing future cooperation between the parties.
