On April 15, 2025, the 83rd session of Khazar University’s traditional “Science and Art Assembly” was held. The session was opened by the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, who introduced the topic “How Our Anthem Was Created: Facts and Truths” and provided detailed information on the scientific research conducted over three years. He then introduced the speaker, Prof. Asif Rustamli, to the audience.
Following this, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed by the participants.
A. Rustamli shared insights from his long-term research on the lyrics of the National Anthem, stating that the true author of the anthem was not Ahmad Javad but Jamo bey Jabrailbeyli. He supported this claim by presenting archival documents from his 204-page book titled “Jamo bey Jabrailbeyli: Life and Literary Legacy,” published in 2024, which was based on official records.
After the lecture, an engaging discussion ensued. Among the speakers who shared their views and suggestions were Tahir Aydinoglu (“Xalq” newspaper), Hamlet Isakhanli (Khazar University), Kamil Shahverdiyev, Yavuz Akpinar (Izmir), composer Sardar Farajov, Orkhan Najafov (Institute of Oriental Studies, ANAS), composer Aydin Azimov, Dilgam Ahmad (Istanbul), Ali Shamil (Institute of Folklore, ANAS), Azad Shukurov (Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts), Badrikhan Ahmadov (Khazar University), Namig Ahmadov (“Xalq” newspaper), Adalat Tahirzade (Baku Eurasian University), Firdovsiyya Ahmadova (Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), Solmaz Tohidi (Institute of Oriental Studies, ANAS), and many others.
