On April 8, 2025, a seminar titled "Promotion of Inflammatory Reaction in Skeletal Muscle Cells and Mechanism of Muscle Loss in Chronic Diseases and Post-Operative Period" was held at Khazar University, organized by the Department of Life Sciences.
At the seminar, Narmin Akhundova, who is conducting research in molecular medicine at Imperial College London under a tripartite agreement between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Khazar University, and within the framework of the "Doctoral Education Abroad Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023," presented and shared the results of her research in this field with the participants.
The seminar was attended by the faculty and students of the Department of Life Sciences at Khazar University. Participants posed questions regarding the role of microRNAs in muscle loss, clinical problems associated with muscle loss, and new scientific research in this direction, conducting interesting and scholarly discussions on the topic.
