On April 9, 2025, a meeting was held at Khazar University with Associate Professor Elsevər Ibadov, Head of the Financial Reporting and Accounting Department of the National Aerospace Agency of the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Dr. Qamet Karimov, Advisor of the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry and PhD in Technical Sciences.

The main goal of the meeting, which was attended by the university’s management and staff, was to work towards integrating innovative initiatives in the field of defense technologies into the university environment and to involve students in this process.

It was noted that with the support of the Ministry and the initiative of Azersilah Holding, the “Def-Age” platform is being created to promote innovation in the defense industry and develop technology-oriented projects. This initiative is aimed at forming a strong ecosystem in the field of defense technologies, supporting innovative ideas, and preparing future specialists.

During the presentation of the “Def-Age” platform, Qamet Karimov provided detailed information about the “Boot Camp” program, planned as the first activity stage, which will last for 4 months. Within the framework of this program, participants will receive intensive training in innovative technologies in the defense field, project management, applied engineering, and startup approaches.

In addition, it was agreed during the meeting to organize a one-hour info session for university students between April 15–30. Through this session, students will receive detailed information about the “Boot Camp” and get acquainted with participation opportunities.

One of the other important initiatives mentioned during the meeting was the idea of establishing a “Defense Technologies Club.” The goal is to create active university clubs where participants who stand out in the “Boot Camp” program can apply the knowledge and skills they have gained to their projects and share this experience with other students.

It is expected that the seminars, trainings, competitions, incubation and acceleration programs, boot camps, and demo day events organized within the framework of the “Def-Age” platform will make a significant contribution to accelerating innovation in the field of defense technologies in Azerbaijan.
