On March 18, 2025, a joint Novruz celebration was held in Qusar district, organized by Khazar University and Jibir Village School. Associate Professor Aynur Gazanfarqizi, Coordinator of Khazar University’s Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore, and Najiba Zeynalova, an Azerbaijani language and literature teacher at Jibir Village School and a Khazar University alumna, delivered congratulatory speeches. They emphasized the significance of preserving cultural values through traditional celebrations and highlighted the joy of students and pupils coming together for this special occasion.
Alovsat Amirbeyli, Director of Public Relations and Media at Khazar University, spoke about the profound role of Novruz in Azerbaijani culture, describing it as a festival that unites people and strengthens friendships.
The event also featured remarks from Ildirim Zeynalov, a representative of the Qusar Education Sector, Uzbek guest Dilbar Haydarova, Acting Dean of Khazar University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences Aygun Verdiyeva, and university lecturer Elmira Kekech.
The Novruz festivities included vibrant performances by Jibir Village School students, who presented theatrical sketches and traditional dances dedicated to the holiday. Additionally, Khazar University’s lecturer, Ashiq Ramin Garayev, captivated the audience with his musical performances, while the university’s dance ensemble added to the festive atmosphere with a dynamic showcase.
At the conclusion of the event, Aynur Gazanfarqizi expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers. She also presented certificates of appreciation to the students of Jibir Village School for their active involvement in the celebration.
