On February 28, 2025, the next meeting of the Khazar University Academic Council was held. The meeting was opened by Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, who is currently serving as the rector, and he brought the agenda items to the attention of the Academic Council members.
First, M. Nuriyev provided information about changes in the composition of the Academic Council. Then, the first agenda item was a report by Gunel Bahaddinova, Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology, regarding the dissertation topics and scientific supervisors of doctoral and dissertation students. Each student spoke about the relevance of their research topic, the methods to be used, and other important aspects. Council members asked questions to the students, and the topics were approved by voting.
M. Nuriyev informed the Academic Council members about the second agenda item – the results of exam sessions. He noted that the exam session for the autumn semester of the 2024/25 academic year was organized between January 6-28. A total of 4,441 students participated in the session, including 3,948 at the bachelor's level and 493 at the master's level. He provided detailed information about the final, penalty, and completion exams organized by the faculties and brought the quality and success indicators of the faculties to the attention of the council members.
M. Nuriyev discussed the third agenda item – the teaching load of departments for the autumn and spring semesters of the 2024/25 academic year. He provided information about the number of existing courses and groups for each department and emphasized the urgent need to appoint heads for departments without directors.
All items on the Academic Council's agenda were discussed, and appropriate decisions were made.
