An event titled "Books Are My Best Friends" was jointly organized by Khazar University's Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore and the Mirvarid Dilbazi Poetry Assembly Public Union at the University's Marble Hall on February 14, 2025. The event was attended by university administration, staff, students, and families of martyrs.
The event began with a moment of remembrance for the martyrs, followed by a short video presentation on the topic. Prof. Academician Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of the university and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, addressed the students, explaining the essence and importance of books and reading, and held an encouraging discussion to promote reading among students.
Gullu Tomarova, head of the Mirvarid Dilbazi Poetry Assembly Public Union, shared her thoughts and observations about reading being an essential tool for intellectual development. Following her speech, she presented various books to the students.
Mathematics specialist Turan Ibrahimov, after his presentation, gifted students with books by his favorite renowned author Aziza Jafarzade.
Speaking on behalf of martyrs' families, Sevil Huseynova talked about her son - martyr Zaur and presented a book written in his memory to Hamlet Isakhanli. Later, Aynur Gazanfargizi made the event more engaging by conducting a quiz with students. Those who answered correctly were awarded books authored by Hamlet Isakhanli.
