On February 4, 2025, Khazar University held its annual report meeting on the scientific research activities of research centers, academic departments, and individual scientists. The meeting discussed the results of scientific research conducted at the university, achievements, challenges and their solutions, the impact of international and local collaborations, prospects for scientific publications and projects, as well as future research directions.
The meeting was opened by Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees. He spoke about the university's recent scientific achievements and the impact of research on the university's international reputation. He also emphasized steps needed to improve research quality, promote multidisciplinary research, and enhance international visibility of the university's scientific publications. Additionally, he shared his thoughts on the commission established to evaluate research centers' activities and their responsibilities.
The commission was formed with the following members: Fakhranda Efendiyeva, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering; Gunel Bahaddinova, Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Arts and Technology; Raziya Isayeva, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Ingilab Ahmadov, Dean of the Graduate School of Economics and Business; Farida Tatardar, Head of Physics and Electronics Department; and Lyudmila Sotova, Director of Quality Assurance Center.
Fakhranda Efendiyeva, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, presented a comprehensive report on behalf of the commission. She provided detailed information about the main objectives of these centers, achieved results, and strategic plans for the upcoming period. The commission's recommendations were heard at the end of the report, and steps for their implementation were discussed.
Lyudmila Sotova, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, presented a report reflecting the scientific activities of departments and individual researchers for 2024. She provided detailed information about efforts to increase the university's scientific productivity, improve research quality, and publish articles in internationally ranked journals.
At the conclusion of the event, departments and individual researchers who conducted the most scientific research in 2024 were awarded certificates and prizes. The Physics and Electronics Department was named "Best Department of the Year" for publishing the most scientific articles in 2024, while Gunel Imanova from the same department and Mustafa Kartal from the School of Economics and Management received certificates and awards as "Researchers of the Year."
In closing, Hamlet Isakhanli provided recommendations to research centers and departments for further strengthening the university's scientific potential, expanding international research networks, and conducting research that responds to modern scientific challenges.
At the end of the event, participants discussed new initiatives for the university's scientific development and exchanged ideas about future collaborations and projects.
