It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing away of Dr. Nazaket Mamedli, Chief Researcher at the Muhammad Fuzuli Institute of Manuscripts of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Mamedli was one of the leading experts on manuscript sources of Sufi literature and a prominent representative of the scientific community of Azerbaijan and the Turkic world.
The Turkic Academy extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. Mamedli. For several years, she actively collaborated with the Academy, participating in its scientific projects. In particular, she made a significant contribution by translating the works of Azhiniyaz Kosybaylu from Karakalpak into Azerbaijani, which became an important step in strengthening cultural ties among the Turkic peoples.
Dr. Mamedli’s work will serve as an enduring example of her deep dedication to science and selfless efforts to study, preserve and popularize the literary heritage of the Turkic world.
