On January 31, 2025, a jubilee celebration marking the 30th anniversary of "Khazar Review" journal was held in the Marble Hall of Khazar University. The event was attended by university leadership and Scientific Council members, journal editorial board members, former and current staff, leadership and staff of "Dunya" schools, leadership of Azerbaijan Press Council, employees of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), and leadership of Lankaran-Astara Regional Education Department.
The event host, Afag Gambarova from "Dunya" school, informed participants that "Khazar Review" journal has been continuously published since January 1995 under the founding of Khazar University. Over the years, the journal evolved from publishing articles in Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, and English languages to becoming a bilingual publication for nearly fifteen years, with most Azerbaijani articles being translated into English. The journal serves as a comprehensive chronicle of Khazar University for future decades.
The university's Multimedia Center presented a video showcasing photographs depicting the journal's journey.
Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, and editor-in-chief of "Khazar Review" journal since its establishment, delivered a speech. Starting his speech with the presentation of the first newspaper issue of "Khazar Review," H. Isakhanli spoke about the newspaper's transformation into a journal and its development path. He noted that the journal currently reflects the full life of "Khazar" through its numerous rubrics, covering the university's educational and student environment, international relations, media coverage both domestically and internationally, and other activities. Speaking about the journal's connections with national education and science, the speaker mentioned that Academic Isa Habibbayli, when he was the rector of Nakhchivan State University about 15 years ago, supported the initiative of "Khazar Review" journal by ordering the establishment of the journal's bureau at Nakhchivan State University, which continues to operate to this day. This allows both coverage of the university's life in several pages of each issue and promotes the journal in Nakhchivan. When Isa Habibbayli moved to Baku about 11 years ago and was appointed director of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi at the Academy, he unexpectedly proposed opening a bureau of the journal at the institute, and currently, several pages of each issue publish articles about the institute's and sometimes the academy's events. H. Isaxanli noted that such practice could be expanded.
It was mentioned that after the editor-in-chief signs "Khazar Review" journal for publication, it is immediately presented to readers on its website. This operational work is carried out in the Internet Media Department. It was also noted that besides publishing the journal, the editorial office of Khazar Review also manages the university's website. News sent by university staff is prepared in the editorial office and posted on the university's website, amounting to 800-900 articles annually. The Information Technology Department handles this work.
Professor Gulu Maharramli, member of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan Press Council, honored journalist, Presidential scholar, spoke and read the council's congratulatory letter, announcing that the journal was awarded the council's diploma for its services in professional promotion of Azerbaijani culture, science, scientific-pedagogical environment, development of field journalism, and on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, and presented the congratulatory letter and diploma to H. Isaxanli.
