The screening of the film "Emilia" took place on January 13, 2025, at the "Cine Club" hall of Landmark Business Center. The film is a drama depicting the struggle for freedom in Lithuania during Soviet repressions. The protagonist Emilia marches with protesting crowds toward her desired life in spring 1972, as young people flood the streets of Kaunas demanding freedom for Lithuania.
The film was translated into Azerbaijani by fourth-year translation students Khaver Kekalova, Gulchin Ibrahimova, Ali Garazade, and Aysel Ahmadova, along with second-year English language teaching student Adila Abbasova from Khazar University's Department of English Language and Literature, under the guidance of department instructor Elmira Jahangirli.
Before the screening, Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaskelevičius expressed his profound gratitude to Milana Abbasova, Head of the Department of English Language and Literature at the University, for her support. Following this, an award ceremony was held for the Khazar University students who contributed to the film's translation and subtitling into Azerbaijani.
