On September 16, 2024, the opening ceremony of the new academic year was held at Khazar University. The event was attended by the university administration, faculty deans, department heads, staff, students, and parents.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Then speeches were delivered by the university’s rector, Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova; the Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, Dr. Fakhranda Efendiyeva; the Acting Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Dr. Khanim Omaroghlu; and the Acting Dean of the School of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences, Aygun Verdiyeva, who congratulated the students, particularly the first-year entrants, and wished them success in their studies ahead.

Newly admitted students and parents were briefed on Khazar University's prominent role in the nation's educational sector and its commitment to training highly qualified professionals through close integration with the global education system. They were also informed about the university’s experienced faculty, the involvement of foreign professors, student exchange opportunities, and other available benefits. The event featured performances by university ensembles and soloists as part of a concert program.
