On June 27, 2024, Khazar University Rector, Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova participated in one of the Kapuscinski Development Lectures organized by a joint initiative of the UNDP and the European Commission.

Guest speaker Prof. Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, the executive director of the Centre for Planetary Health of Sunway University Malaysia, delivered the lecture titled “Living in a complex world: can planetary health offer a way forward?”

The event brought together members of the health and education community, experts, academicians, students, local authorities, diplomats, and civil society.

The lecture, which was organized in a hybrid format, was part of the preparations for COP29 Azerbaijan.

As members of the Planetary Health Alliance, Dr. Irada Khalilova and Dr. Jemilah Mahmood discussed cooperation possibilities and research projects between Khazar University and Sunway University for COP29 and beyond.
