On May 30-31, 2024, Dr. Elvin Abbasbeyli, an oral translation instructor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Khazar University and coordinator of the University’s Center for Translation and Interpretation, attended the international scientific conference “Modern Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, Problems of Linguistics, Literary Studies, and Translation Studies” at Mamun University in Khiva, Uzbekistan. He delivered a speech on "Conference Interpreting and Diplomatic Interpretation Activities in International Organizations". Researchers from Uzbekistan, Russia, and the United States also presented their findings at the event. The following day, Bahrom Yuldashev, vice-rector for international relations at Mamun University, met with Elvin Abbasbeyli. During their meeting, they discussed the project of regularly organizing master classes in oral translation for selected English language faculty members at Mamun University starting next academic year, and expressed a desire to sign a memorandum of cooperation with Khazar University.
