On May 30, 2024, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of Khazar University was held. The meeting was opened by the rector of the university, the chairman of the Scientific Council, Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova, who brought the issues on the agenda into consideration. Scientific secretary Gunel Bahaddinova presented the first topic, detailing the dissertation subjects and scientific supervisors for doctoral students. After the doctoral students explained the relevance and objectives of their research, the dissertation topics and supervisors were approved with suggested amendments.

For the second agenda item, the scientific secretary reported that some students requested minor changes to their dissertation titles based on their research direction. The faculty approved these new dissertation titles submitted to the Scientific Council. The following agenda item involved the scientific secretary providing information on the minimum examination programs for the doctoral program and the feedback received. Council members suggested improvements to the program design, and a relevant decision was made.

As the last issue of the Scientific Council, Head of the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy Dr. Orkhan Valiyev's application  to the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the title of associate professor was discussed. The secretary of the Scientific Council gave detailed information about the plaintiff. After the secret voting, the result was announced to the council members by the chairman of the Accounting Commission and a protocol was drawn up. At the end of the meeting, the chairman gave information about the issues that will be on the agenda of the next Scientific Council and instructed to prepare for these issues.
