On May 27, 2024, Khazar University's Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore (ICAF) hosted an event titled "Eco-Poetics in Uyghur Literature" as part of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World." Assoc. Prof. Aynur Gazanfargizi, the coordinator of ICAF, opened the event with an introduction and provided information about the guests. Abdushukur Gumtur, chairman of the World Uyghur Writers' Association and a guest at the event, spoke about Uyghur literature and the significance of eco-poetics within it.

Following this, Metin Ergun, a lawyer from the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and a folklorist, delivered a speech on the political history of the Uyghurs and the genocide they have endured.

The event was also attended by Dr. Zamina Ziyayeva, a lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literatures; Aygun Verdiyeva, the acting dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; deputy dean Parvin Karimova; and Aynura Safarova, an employee of the ANAS Folklore Institute.
