On January 24, 2024, Malak Karimova, the coordinator of the Psychology Department at Khazar University, presented a thesis titled "The Role of Music Therapy in our Mental Well-being" at the Multidisciplinary International VII Halic Conference held in Istanbul (both in-person and online). In her presentation, she not only explained the physical and psychological effects of music on individuals but also discussed the historical background, various types, and methods of music therapy, emphasizing its importance and positive effects on mental well-being.
During the presentation, she delved into the neurological processes of the brain, the positive effects of music on neurotransmitters and brain structures, and the role of music in combating stress, dealing with depression, and addressing other psychological challenges.
The speaker highlighted the significant role that music plays in human life and underscored that music therapy serves as a valuable alternative means for promoting mental well-being. She concluded her presentation by addressing questions from conference participants.
