Jamala Eldarova, the head of Khazar University's Department of Life Sciences, Dr. Javid Ojagi, an associate professor of the department, and Mahammad Eldarov, the deputy dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art, and Technology, were dispatched to the Royan Institute for Biotechnology in Isfahan, Iran, for a four-day visit from January 14 to 18, 2024.
The primary objective of the visit was to engage in discussions regarding scientific research projects, fortify cooperation ties, set up scientific research laboratories, and collaborate on joint research endeavors. The faculty from the Department of Life Sciences familiarized themselves with the ongoing research in areas such as Embryology, Biotechnology, Stem Cell, Virology, and Andrology, as well as explored the institute's technical facilities. Additionally, an online meeting, led by Prof. Nasr Esfahani, involved the rector and vice-rectors of Royan Institute, addressing the signing of a memorandum, the establishment of a joint research center, and other cooperation matters.
Khazar University staff also visited Prof. Nasr's private clinic, "Pooyeshfertility," gaining insights into artificial insemination, infertility treatment, embryological examinations, and gender determination. Dr. Mehdi Hajian and Dr. Farnush Jafarpoor facilitated a tour of the Royan Institute of Biotechnology's farm, providing extensive information about animal research.
Consequently, the decision was made to sign a memorandum between Khazar University and the Royan Institute, collaborate on joint grant projects, and establish a scientific research center.
