On November 30, 2023, Khazar University, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Azerbaijan, the UN Office in Azerbaijan, and the Swiss Embassy in Azerbaijan, organized a presentation for the International Contemporary Art Project titled "Maiden's Tower. Being a Woman." Khazar University holds a prominent role as one of the key partners in this initiative.
Rector of Khazar University Irada Khalilova, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Latvia in Azerbaijan Vija Busha, professional artist Sabina Shikhlinskaya, independent researcher Afsana Tahirova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences Nurlan Nasirov, Lecturer of Architecture and Design Department Mehdi Samedi, Head of International Relations Department Fatima Valiyeva, coordinator for International Relations Turan Alizade, students and others attended the event.
The central theme of the presentation was "Women for Peace", focusing on women's lives, their societal roles, and associated challenges. The project aimed to contribute to social integration through art and culture, with each aspect reflecting a vital role in this new strategy. The project's name derives from the Maiden Tower, symbolizing Baku.
