On May 19, 2023, a conference on "The current situation in the field of application of family legislation related to the termination of marriage" was held under the joint organization of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Issues, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Bar Association.

Malak Karimova, the coordinator of the Psychology Department of Khazar University, and Akif Alizadeh, the lecturer of the Law Department, took part in the conference. In their speeches, they noted the importance of the "Family Law" subject taught at the university, and Malak Karimova also spoke about the difficulties encountered in education, the family mediation process, the establishment of family support centers to strengthen the family institution, and the need for free psychological assistance before and during marriage.
