On February 20-23, 2023, Telman Nusratoghlu, head of the History and Archeology Department, Khazar University, visited Hatay, Malatya, Kahramanmarash and Adiyaman as a representative of the "Fraternal aid" platform founded by many societies and NGOs in Azerbaijan to help people affected by the devastating earthquake in Türkiye.
During the visit, the delegation including the head of the department, met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Türkiye Suleyman Soylu, the acting governors, heads of municipalities and heads of AFAD, and informed state officials, media representatives and people affected by the earthquake about Azerbaijan-Türkiye brotherhood, the mobilization of the people and the state of Azerbaijan in the spirit of brotherhood to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake from the first hours of the earthquake. While in Turkey, T. Nusratoghlu told the Turkish media about "Fraternal help" which was the main motto of societies founded by Azerbaijani intellectuals and public figures in the beginning of the 20th century and helping our compatriots in Anatolia during the Balkan and First World Wars.
