On February 20, 2023, a meeting was held with the newly appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the United States of Mexico to Azerbaijan, Maria Victoria Romero Caballero.

The founder of Khazar University, the chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, professor, academician Hamlet Isakhanli, the rector of the university Irade Khalilova, the director of Public Relations and Media Alovsat Amirbeyli, the head of the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy Orkhan Valiyev, the coordinator of the International relations office Fatima Valiyeva took part in the meeting.

Opinions were exchanged on the importance of relations between Azerbaijan and the United States of Mexico, in the direction of fostering bilateral relations and partnership with Mexican educational institutions. The guest was informed about Khazar University's education system, scholarships offered to foreign students, and the Nailekhanim scholarship established by the Nailkhanim Foundation.

At the end of the meeting, a gift was presented to the ambassador.
