On October 25, 2022, a commemorative event was held in the Marble Hall of Khazar University on the 65th anniversary of Vurgun Ayyub and the presentation of the book "Literary Life".
The book, which consists of various articles and researches on Azerbaijani literature, poetry and story analyses by Vurgun Ayyub, is, in fact, an important work as a textbook for students studying philology and teaching Azerbaijani language and literature in higher schools. In addition to the analysis of various poems by poets such as Mahammad Hadi, Abdulla Shaiq,
Abbas Sahhat, Mirza Alakbar Sabir, Huseyn Javid, Jafar Jabbarli, Samad Mansur, Mammad Araz, there are also chapters called story analyses, literary process and criticism, reviews.
The event was opened by Associate Professor Elza Samadli, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. She emphasized that the immortal memory of Vurgun Ayyub will always live in the hearts of those who know him. Then a video depicting the life and work of Vurgun Ayyub was shown. Afterwards, the students sang examples of Vurgun Ayyub's poems that were not published anywhere.
The presentation of the book "Literary Life" was made by Ali Shamil and Professor Badirkhan Ahmadov, who contributed greatly to its preparation. The design of the book belongs to Nizami Alisoy, a graduate of Khazar University who was Vurgun Ayyub’s student. In the continuation of the event, Khatira Yusifova, associate professor of the Department of Languages and Literatures, presented to the participants one of the analyzes of poems included in the book "Literary Life" - the analysis of Jafar Jabbarli's poem "To the Azerbaijan Flag". Then the critic Irada Musayeva, whom Vurgun Ayyub talked about in the book "Literary Life", writers - Nariman Abdulrahmanli and Fakhri Ugurlu were given floors. They also shared their memories of Vurgun Ayyub and thanked the organizers of the event.
Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University, chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, spoke at the event and highly appreciated Vurgun Ayyub's professionalism in his scientific and pedagogical activities. Vurgun Ayyub's wife Sima Ayyubova and daughter Laman Vurgun, who participated in the event, thanked Khazar University management for organizing the event.
At the event, Vurgun Ayyub's personal collection of personal belongings, photos and documents was presented by his family to Nushaba Asadli, the employee of the National Azerbaijan History Museum, to be kept in its fund.
